While creating this piece, I was still thinking about the idea of having the opportunity to preserve a spirit orb of a Martian. Incorporating silvers and metallics, playful textures…
I approached it from a place of one: preservation
but also, through the lens of respect, empathy, and self reflection. I was thinking about how I would want to be preserved if I could become a wearable relic for my family to possess for centuries beyond my earthly existence.

+ I made the pendant using an assortment of human hair and a reflective pink/blue translucent paper mixed with resin to create the spirit orb. The bezel was made from lead free solder.

+ the beads featured in this piece are an assortment of found beads I’ve collected for over 5 years. Featuring my edited ‘Mars Pearls’, Man made crystals, earth made crystals, salt water pearls and more.
